Weld County Sheriff"s News Release 2/7/14
Suspect Cimmeron Johns is believed to be the primary suspect in an incident that began at approximately 10:00 pm on February 6th of 2014 when Weld County Sheriff’s Deputies were alerted to a possible kidnapping situation. Sherri Pachello called to report to her husband that she was being chased by a dark colored car after she had been out trying to locate her daughter. Sheriff’s Deputies immediately began canvassing the Frederick CO area, Sherri’s last known location.
Through further investigation, Sheriff’s Deputies learned that Sherri Pachello had driven to a residence in Frederick to retrieve her daughter, Alisha Johns, who had gone to visit her estranged husband, Cimmeron Johns. It is believed that Sherri Pachello was able to retrieve her daughter from the Frederick residence where both females left the area in the 1991 Ford Explorer. Witnesses reported seeing two vehicles speeding away from the Johns’ residence, the pursuing vehicle being a black Mercedes that was commonly driven by Cimmeron Johns.
The immediate investigation located a crash scene near the town of Frederick where an abandoned black 1992 Mercedes was found nearby that was known to be driven by suspect Cimmeron Johns. It is believed that the suspect abandoned his car and took control of the vehicle that Sherri and Alisha were driving after they slid off the road and their vehicle became temporarily inoperable. Weld County Sheriff’s Deputies combed the area throughout the night to attempt to locate the missing females and the suspect with no success.
At approximately 11:00 am on February 7th, a surveyor working in the area of Weld County road 17 and Weld County road 4 discovered a female body in a stream bed. Two hours later, as Weld County Sheriff’s Deputies were continuing to search the immediate area, another female body was found in the area of Weld County Road 15 half way between Weld County Roads 2 and 4.
At this time, the two recovered bodies have presumptively been identified as:
· Sherri Pachello; DOB 09-12-1957
· Alisha Johns; DOB 07-25-1977
On February 7th of 2014, Thornton Police Officers encountered a person believed to be Cimmeron Johns at an apartment complex located in the area of 103rd Avenue and Irma Street after Weld County Sheriff’s Deputies located the vehicle belonging to Sherri Pachello in the same area, the 1991 gold colored Ford Explorer.
The specific information surrounding suspect Cimmeron Johns’ encounter with Thornton Police Officers will be handled through their prescribed protocols; that incident being one that is still developing.
